It isn’t often I change up my skincare, although I do love trying different face masks I usually have a ‘go-to’. I had never tried a sheet face mask before, so when I saw When were looking for bloggers to review their face mask I couldn’t help myself. The When face mask is a sheet face mask; I was pretty excited, like a kid at Christmas, to try these as they’re new to me. When have been established since 2011 and they started selling their face masks in Korea, before expanding to the US, Europe and the Middle East. In all honesty I hadn’t heard of this brand, but I’m definitely glad I came across them.

WHEN FACE MASK: REVIEW
When were kind enough to send me two of their face masks. They sent the ‘travelmate’ and the ‘snow magic’ face masks.
Travelmate: for when you’re on the road and your skin needs hydration
Snow Magic: for when you want clear and brighter looking skin
I have been moving house recently, plus I also travelled home (around a 1hr 30mins journey) so I thought I’d try out the Travelmate When face mask first. This review is going to focus on the Travelmate face mask as I haven’t tried the Snow Magic face mask yet, I’m waiting between use for when my skin really needs it as it’s pretty clear at the moment!
HOW TO USE
Before I review the product I just want to go over how to use the product. I, for once, actually had to read the instructions (thankfully they had them on the packaging) as I haven’t used a sheet face mask before. When recommend that you cleanse your face, then dry the face so you have a clean dry surface for the face mask to sit on top of.
Inside the packaging the face mask is sandwiched between a pouch – unfold the three layers of sheets(plastic film-sheet mask-paper) and remove the sheet mask from the pouch. Apply the mask to the face with the eye and mouth holes aligned to where your eyes and mouth are.
When recommend you leave the mask on the face for 30 minutes, then discard the face mask. After removing the face mask massage any of the remaining product into the skin.

I didn’t really have any expectations before using this, as I honestly don’t know much about sheet face masks. But, since trying the When face mask I think I might be converted to a sheet face mask lover. Yes, I love my clay masks but for evenings when I have more time, or want to pamper myself, I would definitely consider using a one of these.
While the face mask was on my face I relaxed and it felt really cooling on the face. The actual mask is very wet – I didn’t expect it to be so wet but then again I guess that’s how it sticks to the face. The only negative point was that the mouth hole was rather big, so the face mask kept slipping down my chin. Other than that the face mask stayed on and didn’t slide around my face.
Once I’d taken off the mask my skin instantly felt and looked much more hydrated. Plus, the active breakouts I had at the time seemed to be reduced; there was less redness and they weren’t as inflamed. I have oily-combination skin, but it can be sensitive and this face mask didn’t break me out – definitely recommend for sensitive skin types. I was worried that my current breakouts would be irritated but there was no irritation to the skin on my face or breakouts/blemishes.
After rubbing in the remaining product, it felt fully absorbed after 5 or so minutes. As I said my skin was noticeably more hydrated, less red and just refreshed. Plus, it was a lot softer to touch than before using the When face mask.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Despite not knowing the brand I really do rate these face masks. This isn’t a ‘quick fix’ but it’s definitely worth trying and adding to your skincare routine – even if you do one of these masks per month, it’d still benefit your skin. I found this worked better than a lot of clay masks or other face masks that require you to remove it with a cloth, as this is much more gentle than those face masks. If you have dry or sensitive skin I think you’d love these masks, but equally other skin types would enjoy these as they provide just the right amount of hydration for your skin. I will definitely be looking into trying more of the When face masks, as this type of face mask definitely delivers more vitamins and nutrients to the skin than other face masks available.
