Beauty Tuesday: REVIEW: Bio-cellulose Face Masks from When
As these past few weeks have been incredibly busy with work and moving house etc, I haven't had time to sit down, take a breather and have a bit of "me time". My favourite "Me time" is face masks!
Today, I'm featuring these awesome sheet marks from When Beauty.
When Beauty is a Korean beauty brand targeted for the modern individual, pressed for time. They have a unique range of mask for distinct situations and are becoming really popular in the UK with the rage of Asian beauty starting to trend.
WHEN was kind enough to send me 2 of their masks for me to review through BrandBacker. All of them are perfect for the "me time" moments I've earned these months!
Here's my thoughts:
Following instructions, I put the mask on at 10pm sharp!
The sheet mask is packaged between two sheets and despite being drenched in serum it is very easy to unfold and put on. Unlike common sheet masks that are made of fabric, When masks are made of lightweight bio-cellulose coconut sheets that prevent skin irritations. I like the fact that that sheet is made of eco-friendly natural material and even the medical field uses a similar sheet for dressing burn patients. The serum is cool and gel like, and has a sticky consistency when first applied. It dries up slowly and I really liked the cooling effect it had on my skin.
The mask has to be removed after 30 minutes but I was so comfortable in it that I kept it for another 10. My face had just the ample amount of serum on it to rub in as a night cream and I dozed off to bed.
By morning, my face had taken on a noticeable dewy glow and felt well well hydrated and refreshed. It was like I had woken up from a very deep. This mask would be a lifesaver for late nights, and I definitely need more of it in my life!
Why I need more of the "When 10pm Mask"
- The mask is super easy to use

- It's paraben, sulphate and phthalate free.
Glamour Base
I just love the names for these. This one is meant to use pre-makeup, so I saved it for my date with a very dishy farmer. As it was on, I could really feel it calming my skin. I think this was the most cooling of the three I tried. My skin was left super bright and glowing afterwards, so it's no wonder it's recommended to use before a big event. It really plumped up my skin as well, so makeup just glided right on. After taking the mask off I was left with a bit of tacky hydration, which was great because it acted as a nice primer. I really felt it helped here, my makeup application stayed well for around 8-10 hours, but that's kind off regular thing for me. Also the mask is paraben and sulphate free. It is suggested that rather than washing off the essence it can be massaged right into the skin once you remove the sheet from your face. I put this mask and then kept it for 30 minutes before applying my makeup, also I didnt use serum after using this mask and used just tiny amount of moisturizer because my skin was already super moisturised.

How to Use When sheets masks?!?
When recommends using their masks a couple of times a week (2-3), or everyday if you'd like, without fear or irritation. They work like most facials masks in that you apply them to a clean face and wait 30 minutes for the essence to absorb, then massage the remaining product into face and neck. Here are a few extra tips from When's website that I thought were worth nothing.
- Use the extra serum all over your body. The pool of serum left in the pouch should be used to give your neck, hands, arms, legs, feet and what-not a taste of love as well.
- Use a face oil afterwards. Applying a drop or two of your favourite face oil after using When masks will enhance the effect of the treatment.
- Watch the clock. Leaving on the mask for longer than the recommended time may increase the temperature of the skin and can lead to a rise in bacteria count on the skin, causing acne and other malicious problems. And please DON'T FALL ASLEEP wearing When masks.
